Sélanne Steak Tavern (owned by hockey hall-of-famer Teemu Selanne) sits at 1464 S Coast Hwy downtown, set back from the coast in a building that runs five distinct rooms: the main dining floor, the bar, a Veranda, a Sunset Terrace, and a private dining space upstairs. The kitchen runs prime steaks, chops, and seafood with a strong charcuterie and crudo program; a Michelin-trained pastry chef rounds out the team. Happy hour runs Tue to Thu 5 to 6 pm with $12 specialty martinis and an abbreviated bar-bites menu pulled from the dinner kitchen. The HH window is shorter than most Laguna programs because the kitchen prep doesn't scale to a four-hour service, so arriving by 5 pm matters more here than at a beer-and-wine HH.
